Chances are you’ve either seen or heard of Steve’s Golf, probably both. I first saw this car at a Prept meet about 6 months ago, ever since I’ve been looking out for it at all of the shows and events we attend.
Being into the scene for around 5 years and being only 21, it is certainly an impressive build. What started life out as a completely standard VW Golf Mk6 GTI has completely transformed into probably the most show stopping MK6 Golf I’ve seen to date.
“Getting into cars kinda just happened I guess, I took a liking to them, started going to Prept, then onto shows, and now we are here….”
Steve’s interior has been through a couple of transformations, but safe to say we all love how it looks now. The quilted rear giving in that touch of class, along with the awesome Vibe slick 10″ sub hidden away in the wall of the boot. The Recaro CS seats upfront trimmed in Nappa black with red stitching to match the theme, coupled with a splash of colour for the backs trimmed in Red Alcantara. The attention to detail on the interior is sublime and not one thing left un-touched even down to the boot struts trimmed in Nappa black with red stitching to match of course…
As with a lot of enthusiasts these days, air ride was a must. Steve opted for Airlift Performance XL Slams with the popular airlift V2 management system, a good choice! Sits the car right on the floor, just how Steve wanted it to look, and from the front, well, see for your self…
“Favourite thing about my car is the look of the front end of the car! And I love the power! It’s always good to be able to have fun with the car!!”
After 3 or 4 sets of wheels the 19” Rotiform MHG’s boasting 9J all round have to be the first thing you notice about the car, the big concave bringing up the rear matched with a set of awesome 6 pot brakes paired with 356mm disks. They tuck elegantly into the arches and contrast with the carbon metallic grey paintwork beautifully.
We asked Steve what his favourite show was and why:
“I’d say I look forward to the likes of VW days in France! Its so relaxed and chilled out! A lot more different cars than the same in all the UK shows over here! No shit just laughs!”
Steve’s car was a pleasure to shoot, we look forward to seeing it throughout the summer at all the upcoming shows!
